Fringed Sedge is a clump forming sedge. It is a wetland species, prefering constant wet soils and some standing water, but it will tolerate drier conditions once established. Spikelet inflorescence up to 4 inches long droop from the plant spring to mid sum ... mer and last about a week. This sedge is rhizomatous and will form colonies under ideal growing conditions. Great choice for erosion control, low areas, and rain gardens.
