*This is a seasonal position running March 1st through Thanksgiving.
Responsibilities
Under direct supervision of the Greenhouse Manager:
- Organize daily tasks for team of 10-15 propagators.
- Supervise and provide feedback to propagators on all tasks, including transplanting and plant care techniques.
- Conduct daily checks of plant health in perennial greenhouses.
- Regularly scout plants for pests and disease. Implement IPM as needed.
- Seed perennials according to seeding schedule, and care for and maintain plants in seed flats.
- Daily propagation and weeding of perennial plants.
- Conduct final plant health and quality checks for order fulfillment.
- Assist with loading greenhouse plant material for order fulfillment.
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of greenhouse production areas and equipment.
- Assist in implementation of regular irrigation schedule.
- Assist in container production and inventory management as needed.
- Fall seed collection, cleaning and sowing of woody seeds.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Desire to get your hands dirty in fast-paced work environment while learning about the beautiful native plants in our area.
- Ability to lift and walk with while carrying up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand for several hours at a time while transplanting; ability to work in the hot, humid environment of a greenhouse or in the sun, wind, rain or cold of the outdoors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience transplanting seedlings, dividing root systems for propagation, and/or sowing seeds.
- Experience working in a greenhouse or on a small farm.
- General experience and knowledge in plant care.
- Some plant knowledge, such as growing requirements, plant anatomy, plant disease or pest management.
Part Time & Seasonal
We are currently accepting applications for this position. Interviews and hiring for next season will begin after the new year.
Primary responsibilities will be caring for crops, harvesting trees, and loading customer orders.
Positions last from March 1st to the end of November. Some positions will be extended dependent on workload and order volumes.
Required Qualifications:
- Desire to get your hands dirty in a fast-paced work environment while learning about the beautiful native plants in our area.
- A love for plants! No formal training, education or experience in horticulture is necessary.
- Ability to lift and walk with while carrying, up to 50 pounds, occasionally 75-100 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to stand for several hours at a time while working in the field; ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Availability of at least 3 days a week, Monday through Friday, 7am-3:30pm. 5 days a week preferred.
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience working on a small farm or nursery a plus.
- Experience driving farm equipment, such as tractors or skidsteers.

- A love for plants! No formal training, education or experience in horticulture is necessary.
- Ability to lift and walk with while carrying up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand for several hours at a time while transplanting; ability to work in the hot, humid environment of a greenhouse or out in the sun and other natural elements.
- Minimum availability of at least 3 days a week, Monday through Friday, 8am-3:30pm. 5 days a week preferred.
- Experience working on a small farm or nursery a plus.
Bonus Qualifications:
These are not required! However, if you have some of this experience, it will be more likely you will enjoy and be successful as a propagator.
