Echinacea pallida is a tough native prairie perennial. It is drought and heat tolerant and will grow well in poor soils. Blooms appear in early June and last 3-4 weeks. Flower stalks can flop over when in bloom, particularly when moisture levels ... are high. Placing other plants nearby for additional support or staking flower stalks may be necessary. Butterflies and bees love these flowers, and Goldfinches are often drawn to the seed heads as a food source.
